The author of the book is attributed to Archmaester Gyldayn, who chronicles the experiences of the Targaryen generations through multiple first- and second-hand accounts. George RR Martin portrays history the way he likes it, including all the betrayal, brutality, struggles, emotions, love, and sex of human nature. Through Fire and Blood, we see the world of ASOIAF through the eyes of a person who reached into the ASOIAF universe and brought one of their textbooks to us.
